Hard to believe it’s been so long since my last entry, not quite sure where the time has gone, feels like only two minutes since I first set this blog up.
I might aswell run down a couple of the things that have taken up some/most of my time, even though like now, I could have easily made time to make a quick entry here and there, so aswell as things keeping me busy I was also busy with excuses for not doing other things. But whats the point in worrying about what could have been? there is enough going on right now to keep focused on.
First things first, my Japanese learning is still going strong, although I could use a good helping of motivation sometimes to make me push to do just that little bit extra on some days.
Terminator Salvation. Go see it if you havn’t already! Truly stunning movie, was so impressed from beggining to end. I have seen it twice now and am still impressed! In my opinion it’s a great follow on from the last movie, showing you pre T800 Terminators and the evolution of the Terminators.
Weight training, we’ve changed our routine now a couple of times to best suite us, focusing now on compound excersises. We finally got a bench and some more weights, so we’re set for a short while now.
To close, I think now i’m past my slump in laziness, so will be keeping myself motivated more now, as I have let a couple of things lapse that I wanted to get done.

I have had a dry spell on the anime front these last 3-4 months, think the last time I bought a new DVD was just before christmas. But I can feel a new anime season comming on, exciting new shows, catching up on those still on-going shows (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece). Speaking of, I have in fact just started playing catch up on Naruto Shippuuden, so maybe now I will get around to actually watching Macross Frontier, which I have being meaning to watch for a long tome.
First priority once I have finished catching up with Naruto Shippuuden is watching the last bunch of DVD’s I bought, and to complete any older series’ that I am missing a few volumes for. Xam’d is another new show that I am wanting to finish watching, after watching the first 3-4 episodes I am hooked, Xam’d promises to be such a good show, I just hope the plot/story are deep and twisting, as to keep me immersed in the Xam’d universe.
As if I needed another reason to get back into anime now, there will soon be released the seccond of 4 new Neon Genesis Evangelion Movies. The first movie was a retelling of the TV series, re-made not a remastered and cut together movie, with some slight changes from the original series, and you could say a couple of big changes are thrown in there too, but no doubt in the movies to come, all will become clear, either that or even more questions will be raised, but no matter how they bring it to a close I doubt they will disapoint. I was trully stunned by this movie, the quality was amazing, it was awe inspiring from begining to end. Now I am a big fan of the Evangelion Universe, so I can’t really help it if my opinions and comments are slightly bias. If I had to use a single word to describe the movie, I would have to go with “breathtaking”. The second movie “Evangelion 2.0: You can [Not] Advance” is slated for release in Japan on 27th June.

Being as it’s never too late to set yourself some new tasks and goals, although I have never been one for new years resolutions I feel like I should really set some goals this year, so i’ll just call it my things to do list… I just hope this list serves to motivate me as well as being a reminder, rather, I will use this list as a reminder and will get things done.
The list, right now i’ll just list the main ones, there are bound to be other things that surface throughout the year that need to be put on this list.
- Japanese – After being on and off with learning japanese for the last few years, I stopped with the excuses and got my ass in gear, with insight from a friend who read a specific method of learning Japanese from the website alljapaneseallthetime.com. after giving it a good read over I thought I would give it a go as much of the methods he wrote about just seemed obviously simple, so at more or less the same time we began on our journey into learning japanese. Begining with the book “Remembering the Kanji, Vol. 1: A Complete Course on How Not to Forget the Meaning and Writing of Japanese Characters” which contains 2042 Kanji. Once this was completed after approximately 5 months, which would have been done quicker if i’d have stuck to my initial 25 per day instead of slacking at weekends, but thats a lesson learned. Kana was next and finished them fairly quickly and easily after the kanji. Now i’m on with sentances, more on those later.
- Weight Training – Again, this is something I get into then pack it in suddenly after about a month. Though I intend to stick it out this time, currently training 4 times a week. More in detail on this at some point soon.
- Healthier Lifestyle – Linked to the above really, but i’m pretty much all over this one already.
- Save – Enough to get to Japan for a year on a part-time working visa, to have plenty of spending money and hopefully get a job and stay there, but we’ll see what happens with that when we get there in a few years.
Well thats about it for now, i’m sure that i’ll be updating this at some point in the future with some more things that I intend to get done.
